JOSÉ MARÍA DE LABRA SUAZO
(La Coruña, 1925 - Palma de Mallorca, 1994)
José María de Labra studied architecture and trade although very soon there appeared the first artistic attempts with the figurative touches that promptly turned into the geometric abstraction. Those new experimentations represented a personal search through the painting and the sculpture. Just like many artists of his generation, the attraction for the abstraction became evident in the mixture of different materials and the examination of new concepts of space and movement.
