Covarsi was always really attached to his birthplace, as apart from his work as a teacher he also joined the directorship of Badajoz School of Arts and became one of the founders of the Provincial Painting Museum.  During the last years of his life given the good relationships which he developed in the contemporary Barcelonan society he created a lot of significant portraits.
